Promise of Light is a trauma-informed residential program being developed to serve children in foster care with complex medical and emotional needs. Our mission is to provide a safe, healing space where children can stabilize after hospitalization and build the skills and confidence they need to thrive in traditional foster or kinship homes. Through 24-hour nursing-supported care, therapeutic services, and deep commitment to each child’s future, we are preparing to change how transition care is done in Texas.

Laci is a registered nurse with experience in emergency medicine and home health nursing management. As President and CEO, she oversees all aspects of strategic planning, licensing, and clinical programming. Drawing from her personal and professional experience as a foster and adoptive parent, Laci leads with compassion, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of medically fragile children in care.

Jay is a licensed paramedic with a Master’s in Public Administration and extensive experience in emergency medicine, systems leadership, and community engagement. As Director of Advancement and Dreams, Jay spearheads marketing, fundraising, stakeholder relationships, and quality improvement efforts. His role ensures the mission of Promise of Light is communicated with clarity, backed by measurable outcomes, and fueled by vision.

Elida is a licensed vocational nurse with experience in pediatric nursing, business administration, and seven years of specialized education for children with diverse disabilities. As Director of Operations, she manages the facility’s day-to-day functions, including staffing, compliance, scheduling, and logistical coordination. Elida ensures that Promise of Light runs smoothly behind the scenes so our team can focus on what matters most—caring for kids.

Kaylee is an EMT and seasoned trauma-informed caregiver who has spent years mentoring other caregivers and providing direct support to children with high emotional needs. As Director of Childcare, Kaylee is responsible for the training, oversight, and support of our caregiving team. She brings a hands-on, heart-led approach to daily care, ensuring every child feels safe, seen, and supported.
